Well, the craziest thing happened to me today. I came back to my classroom from supervising the study hall at school only to find out that my classroom was locked. Strange. I have never locked it since the school year started last Fall. My students are waiting at the door so I go to the secretary who has the keys for the school. She hands me the "master key" which is supposed to open ALL the doors in the school. Well, I tried the key but it wouldn't turn. I go back to her and she says: "This is the only key we were given when we got in the building. We were told it opens all the doors..." So... she calls our property manager. He is about 30 away in another town and is not really happy. He says that he can't come until 3:00pm!!! It is 11:30 right now.
My students have a test today, so I have to cancel it. They are really happy but it messes up our schedule since we're on break next week and only have one more class this week. We find a free spot somewhere else in the school and just study since I have no class material or textbook with me. I also have my car keys, purse and wallet in the classroom by the way...
I thought:"I can get a ride to church, where John is, during lunch time, get his keys and come back to the school to get my car. I'll at least be able to go home for a few hours to get lunch and finish some of the millions things I have to do today." And I have 2 piano lessons to give later today...
So I get a ride to church. The lady, Robin, waits in her car while I go get the keys from John. I walk in his office and he says "alright, here are the keys... wait a minute, I gave them to you this morning!" That's right! Both sets of keys are in the locked classroom!!! I felt so bad for Robin but she was kind enough to take both John and I to Subway to grab lunch, to return to church to drop John's off and to take me back to the school since I can't drive my car, which is parked at the school, or unlock my house!!! What a drag! So, I am still here, sitting at the school, waiting for a guy to come unlock my classroom. In the meantime, I haven't gotten anything done!!! I couldn't even teach this morning! Everything I need is in the classroom.
Anyway, I guess that God is trying to teach me to be patient and flexible today. I can plan my days minute by minute but there will always be unplanned things along the way... I have to learn to go with the flow and keep a good attitude!
... but I still could go without days like today ;o)

Karine, I can relate to this. We all have our moments. Good thing we know that they are all in God's hands, and I'm glad to know that you know how to laugh about the unexpected change in plans.
